Anxiety is a funny thing. We all suffer from it. It is a natural emotional state. And it can be useful in the right circumstances – anxiety heightens the senses, and prepares you for whatever it is that you are feeling anxious about.
The problem is when you start feeling anxious about things that you shouldn’t. When anxiety kicks in for no logical reason. This is when anxiety is no longer a useful asset. And unfortunately, there are millions of sufferers out there who do not know what to do to defeat their anxiety issues.

Understand anxiety - then beat it.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is what you are suffering from when anxiety kicks in with no logical explanation, or when you experience a ‘level’ far in excess of what would be considered normal. Essentially, you will often find yourself enveloped by an often irrational feeling of worry. You will probably be able to recognize that your anxiety is completely irrational, but that will not help.
What Causes GAD?

In fact, my first ever panic attack was a side effect of a course of sleeping pills I had been prescribed. It has also been argued that it can be hereditary. The causes of anxiety can also be deep-rooted in past experiences. Or, it can simply just be an imbalance in your brain.
